DARJEELING


Darjeeling is a town in India's West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. It's famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world’s highest peaks.Darjeeling beckons thousands today for a leisurely respite from the bustle of the madding crowd. The traveler - whether a tourist or a trekker, an ornithologist or a photographer, a botanist or an artist - will find in Darjeeling an experience which will remain etched in one's memory - forever.

SHANTI STUPA


Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist white-domed stupa (chorten) on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district, Ladakh, in north India. It was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura and part of the Peace Pagoda mission. The Shanti Stupa holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama.Shanti Stupda is also known as the Vishwa Shanti Stupa. It is an important place of pilgrimage for Buddhists. The towering stupa is made of marble and there are brilliantly intricate statues of the Lord Buddha here. It is known primarily as being a destination for spirituality and photography.

BATASIA LOOP


The Batasia Loop is a spiral railway created to lower the gradient of ascent of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India. At this point, the track spirals around over itself through a tunnel and over a hilltop. It was commissioned in 1919It is 5 km (3 mi) from Darjeeling, below Ghum. There is also a memorial to the Gorkha soldiers of the Indian Army who sacrificed their lives after the Indian Independence in 1947.Batasia Loop attracts people for spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga & other snow capped Himalayan Peaks and watch the remarkable engineering marvel of Darjeeling Himalayan Railways where almost imperceptibly the railway line negotiates a circle and descends 1000 ft. in altitude.

MAHAKAL TEMPLE


The Mahakal Temple or Mahakal Mandir is a sacred Hindu temple located in Darjeeling in the state of West Bengal, India dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, the third god in the Hindu triumvirate.As mentioned in the Puranas, the Mahakal jyotirlinga of the temple was built by Prajapita Brahma. The temple was built in the 6th century AD by Kumarasena, the son of a former king of Ujjain, Chandpradyot. It was reconstructed in the 12th century AD under King Udayaditya and King Naravarman.The Temple was built in 1782 by Lama Dorjey Rinzing and is perched atop the Observatory Hill in Darjeeling and is an amalgamation of Hindu and Buddhist religions. It is a unique religious site where both religions coexist harmoniously.

TEA GARDEN


The Tea Estate is located at west Darjeeling Valley covering an area of 143 hectares under tea (with 300 hectares of total estate area) and producing 75,000 kg ...So what makes Darjeeling tea so special? Darjeeling Tea is the only tea in the world to get protection under the Geographical Indication (GI) trademark. It is said that these teas are the highest elevation produced teas world over and it is the altitude that creates an ideal environment for the tea plant.Popularly known as the ' Queen of the Hills' ,Darjeeling is a favoured tourist destination, noted for its scenic beauty, ancient forests, quaint houses , friendly peopleand the mountain panorama that it provides.

TIGER HILL (KARGIL)


Tiger Hill is a mountain located in Darjeeling, in the Indian State of West Bengal. It has a panoramic view of Mount Everest and Mount Kanchenjunga together.Situated at a height of 2,590 m at a distance of 13 km from Darjeeling above the town of Ghum, Tiger Hill is internationally acclaimed for providing an enthralling view of a stunning sunrise over Kanchenjunga and other important peaks of the Himalayas.Tiger Hill (also called Point 5062) is a mountain in the Drass-Kargil area of Ladakh, India. It is one of the highest peaks in the area and was the subject of a battle during the 1999 Kargil War.
